Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival

This morning I'm off to the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend.  Zenith Maritime is sponsoring the breakfast and we'll be serving folks for several hours.

There will be a few more pics in the next few days.

FYI:  I lived at Point Hudson (in Port Townsend)  for five years.  My motorhome and boat were feet from each other.  I learned to sail, got my license, and worked with lots of great people while there.

I am trying to get the Captain, of the MV Maersk Alabama a Ugov.gov email account. This will enable better communications with the US Navy while under way. My email address is robert.b.lewis@ugov.gov.

Mr. Lewis,

I asked the ICES chief of customer care about the possibility that
masters of MSC vessels being issued UGOV accounts just to see if they would meet the criteria. The following response indicates that issuing UGOV accounts would not be possible.

"The case you make is absolutely on target it's certainly possible that a widely-based web mail service could be helpful in such a
situation--and in other times of course we'd have given uGov accounts to these folks so long as the government agency (MSC in this case) executing the contract sponsored them. Unfortunately we now have very specific direction on issuance of accounts in this interim period until uGov terminates, and this one does not meet the criteria. Sadly, we must
deny such requests. Being attacked by pirates is out of scope!! We are really headed towards socialism.
