Well this was bound to happen I suppose, a mix of 'new wine in old bottles'. Does USCG allow us to photocopy the relevant page and display that in US Ports? As to the security issue, are US Ports safer from document theft than non-US Ports?
It might be a good idea to amend 46USC 7110 and display 'on request' by Competent Authority only .
Good Watch
Hi Peter,
Good question about the copies. While I believe most folks in practice post a copy, I believe the rule calls for the orig.
As you are aware you most carry the original with you so that it can be surrendered.
And so it goes.
If you have a pilotage endorsement and are licensed as a first class pilot you must also carry with you your annual physical form from the coast guard as well as submitting a copy to the coast guard every year. And dont forget to carry your FCC mirine operators license and current Radar endorsement/certificate.
