MMmmm. I gas up there quite often when I stay at Orcas. Was it really the fuel?

There was no way for me to know. The owner stated that he'd fueled up prior to the failure.
The key is to always use a high volume fuel seller.
I only mention it because 2 years ago I fueled up there and within about 15 minutes my high-end fuel pump failed. I don't know enough about these systems to determine if it was a fuel related problem. Likely not, as after I had the part flown over from Bellingham I bruned the rest of the tank with no problem. Judging from the number of boats at West Beach I have to assume it's a fairly high volume seller. Not like F. harbor or Roche, however.
