The Skagit Valley Herald is reporting:
The Border Patrol has been stopping passengers arriving in Anacortes on about three ferries a week since Feb. 29, Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Joe Giuliano confirmed Wednesday in a telephone interview. Agents have been stopping cars exiting the ferries inside a gated area usually used by Customs and Border Protection officials for international ferry arrivals and asking passengers questions, Giuliano said.
So far, the operation has resulted in the arrest of 29 undocumented immigrants and the discovery of “minor, personal-use amounts of marijuana,” Giuliano said.
